Region 4 Behavioral Health Disaster Response and Preparedness
Disaster behavioral health promotes resilience – supporting people rather than treating people.
The job is to normalize the reactions people are experiencing, and educate them about common reactions and stress management techniques.
Disaster behavioral health volunteers include mental health professionals and caring adults who have taken disaster behavioral health training. They must meet our requirements in the Region to be a volunteer and be willing to continue their learning / practice to ensure they are up to date and ready to deploy if needed.
